The size of the automated fare collection (AFC) industry is estimated to increase to USD 11-12 billion by 2021-22. This will be driven by a shift towards the use of contactless payment technology and account-based ticketing (ABT) built on open platforms (contactless credit and debit cards, and mobile payments).
